Wise elders tell us that life is a set of experiences. How we respond to them determines our future. Our daily beliefs, limitations, attitudes and choices chart the direction of our life.
At first I was surprised to read this. Then my curiosity kicked in and I decided to experiment. What if I could change my life by changing my actions and beliefs? I decided to shift my childhood beliefs “I can’t. Life’s not fair. This is too hard, etc.” (When we let go of the old we need to replace that vacuum with a positive choice of what we DO want.) So I turned the negative beliefs into positive affirmations. I spoke them, visualized them and believed them. I said to myself, I CAN! LIFE IS FULL OF OPPORTUNITIES! I WILL FIGURE THIS OUT!
Part of the process of making any change was retraining my old thoughts. It was necessary for me to become aware of each negative thought and adjust it to a positive one in that moment. Gradually my old negative thoughts were replaced with positive ones for health, success and happiness.
To my amazement my refocused mind became more resourceful in solving problems that in the past had stopped me in my tracks! Instead of skipping meals or snacking on anything in sight when I was hungry, I began to consciously choose healthier, organic, nutrient-rich foods. I also chose to eat at regular times instead of neglecting my body’s needs all day or snacking on fast foods because I was “too busy to eat.” I began to plan ahead. I bought healthier foods for my meals. I took healthy snacks with me. I avoided sodas, colas and sugary beverages. I drank more water. (I love my Kangen water machine which makes oxygenated, ionized water for several pH ranges and purposes!) These simple adjustments changed several of my challenging issues. Gradually I improved my digestion, eliminated bloat and increased my energy! And I lost 20 pounds!
