Dr. Joy’s APPROACH
I am a holistic practitioner. What does that mean? All our organs, systems, mind and emotions are intricately connected. Dysfunction in one area affects other areas as our incredible body tries to adjust and adapt to the imbalance. Therefore I address the whole person.
I look at your whole lifestyle and your current challenges. Together we explore what preceded your issues with an eye toward the cause. Then we make gentle course corrections to bring your whole health back into harmony, at your own pace.
Dr. Joy’s PROCESS
Like a detective I gather information about your diet, symptoms, complaints, past travel destinations, previous exposures to harmful substances, physical stress and emotional trauma, surgeries and current challenges. From this data I design your unique Nutrition Program.
I empower you to make healthy lifestyle changes. My tools are food choices, movement/ exercise preferences, medical food supplements (if needed), attitude shifts, habit correction, focused action steps, and followup support to reach your health and wellness goals.
Dr. Joy’s Story
I didn’t know what was happening until it was too late! I was in brownout and headed for the wall. Then I crashed. Full health breakdown! Funny how we lie to ourselves about our energy, mental focus, health, and vitality!
I thought I was coping with the stress, fatigue, depression, insomnia, headaches, indigestion, brain fog, constant hunger and weight gain! Wrong! I had become careless. I didn’t make my health my first priority. I had stopped eat healthy meals, going to bed early, having fun and taking time to enjoy life. I quickly learned that without my health, I couldn’t work, pay my bills, keep a roof over my head or participate in my favorite activities!
Fortunately, I found a Holistic Nutritionist who helped me get back on track. She changed my life! After my recovery I went back to school to earn Masters and Doctorate degrees in Holistic Nutrition. For the past 25 years I have been helping clients achieve their health goals through my Custom Designed Nutrition Programs and monthly Healthy Hour Nutrition Talks. My monthly column, “Eating Healthy” in The Messenger Newspaper and on my website explain easy, simple concepts about health and nutrition. My work is no longer a job. It is a passion and my mission. I love helping others improve or recover their health!
