Next time choose a new fruit or vegetable, a new spice, a new herb, or a new nut/ seed to discover. Look it up. What is it? What is its origin? How is it used? New recipes?
One day I chose a Cherimoya fruit. I learned the Cherimoya tree is native to Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Chile. It’s nickname is Custard Apple. I read that this large green fruit is white and creamy on the inside. The large seeds are black… and poisonous!
So when I cut into the fruit I carefully did not pierce any of the seeds! The custard like fruit was delicious. It can be eaten raw either alone or in a fruit salad.
What an interesting and delicious food adventure! What new food will you explore today?
